Business Analyst – Livelihood and gender.

The consortium Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation and Swisscontact is seeking to recruit dynamic and
highly qualified Tanzanian professionals with strong credentials to fill 4 technical positions with duty
station in Dodoma for the Rural Livelihoods Development Programme (RLDP). The programme is
funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
RLDP works in the agricultural sector and promotes the development of different commodities and related
sub-sectors. The programme has reached over 80,000 beneficiaries in its efforts to improve the
livelihoods of poor communities in the central Tanzania regions. The key strategy to achieve this goal has
been the creation of income and employment opportunities for smallholder farmers and enterprises by
facilitating market linkages and improving the functioning of related services. The approach utilised by
RLDP is the “Making Markets Work for the Poor” (M4P) approach.


Tasks

• Facilitate the introduction of the “Bariadi Model” of chicken production in selected rural
communities and groups of women
• Advise trainers and service providers for sustainability of the interventions
• Plan and coordinate gender mainstreaming in interventions of the RLDP sub-sectors
• Plan and coordinate HIV AIDS awareness events in collaboration with sub-sector Business
Analysts

Qualifications

• University degree in social sciences or related fields
• Minimum 5 years of practical experience
• Good understanding of market development issues
• Practical experience in livelihoods approach and gender related issues
• Excellent analytical and strategic skills
• Good knowledge of HIV AIDS prevention actions
