Position Summary:

The Marketing Officer will be the key leader for all marketing development and sales execution at MicroEnsure, beginning with the KNCU program in Moshi, Kilimanjaro. This position will have responsibilities for developing marketing strategies, marketing materials, marketing and sales strategy implementation, client/sales training and market research.

The incumbent will be initially be responsible for building strong marketing standards replicable to the 68 primary societies of KNCU, but could eventually lead marketing efforts with other MicroEnsure programs for health, life, property and crop insurance.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop marketing and sales strategies and plans.

• Lead creation of marketing materials internally or with third party vendors.

• Lead execution of marketing/sales programs.

• Recruit, hire, develop and lead a sales/enrolment force focused on delivering insurance products to low income families.

• Develop sales management program including merit based incentive structures, metric development and reporting and HR policy execution.

• They will share their knowledge of prior marketing successes, sales projections, and customer behavior and enrolment patterns to aid the management in assessing the viability of marketing strategies.

• Develop and execute market research programs internally or via third parties and utilize analytics for continuous program(s) improvement.

• Responsible for enrollment and re enrollment figures for various programs.

• Measure and evaluate the success of marketing and sales strategies.

• Identify and train community mobilize teams and other community leaders to deliver marketing awareness for MicroEnsure programs.

Qualifications

• The emerging use of technology for research, marketing, product promotions and advertising requires marketing officers to have advanced computing technical skills.

• Must be creative, highly motivated and able to deal with ambiguity and executing in difficult situations

• Marketing officer must be able to communicate persuasively, both orally and in writing, and exercise tact and diplomacy in their dealings with managers, peers and customers.

• Marketing officers must have excellent people skills and easily build rapport and establish relationships with other industry professionals and the community at client level.

• Marketing officers must demonstrate previous experience developing and managing sales forces in telco, retail, insurance or similar industries.

• Prefer applicants with college diplomas or university degrees.

• College qualifications MUST relate to marketing roles

• Candidates with a proven marketing experience will be highly considered
